Instructions for presenters

Oral presentations

The timeslot for a standard talk is 15 minutes including the discussion (ideally, 10-12 minutes for the talk itself, to allow for questions). The speakers will not be able to use their own computers! There will be a Windows 10 computer available with Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat to show your presentations. Presentations should be thus provided in PowerPoint (PPTX) or PDF format.

The projector in the lecture hall has a widescreen format (16:9) but of course will also support presentaitons in 4:3 (or other) ratio. If you use multimedia or non-standard fonts, ensure everything is transferable, ideally embedded in your presentation file! We cannot guarantee access to online content during the presentation.

The presentaiton should be uploaded at least a day before your talk (or poster flash talk). Please, label the file with your surname only (“MYSURNAME.PPTX” or “MYSURNAME.PDF”).

Poster presentations

Posters must not exceed A0 format (84 x 119 cm) in portrait orientation. They will be displayed in the former cloisters (courtyard of the conference venue) throughout the whole meeting, attached to free-hanging corrugated cardboard boards. Every poster has been assigned a number (see the programme), you should put your poster on the board indicated by your number.

Someone of us will be around to help you to attach the poster with a hand stapler to the board. You may use other attachment means (e.g., double-sided velcro tapes) but in that case, bring necessary material with you! If you plan to make your poster from material other than paper or fabric, or attach some non-standard extra items on it, please, discuss your plans with us in advance!

Each of the two poster sessions (which will be held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon) will be preceded by flash talks by poster presenters. They will be given a chance to briefly present the topic of their poster in no more than 2 minutes (preferably less). These flash talks should stimulate interest of the audience and attract them to the posters, rather than reveal the whole content of your contribution! Flash talk files should be in the same format (PowerPoint or PDF) as for regular presentations (see above).

All posters must be dismantled on Friday afternoon, October 11, after the oral presentation.
